Dekoningtan's journey began in high school in Bangkok, where Verity Tan and Gersom de Koning met, fell in love, and discovered their shared passion for music. They debuted at a talent show with a unique blend of vocals and beatboxing. While initially focusing on covers and videos, they officially formed a duo in 2010, merging their surnames for their group name. Over the years, their musical style evolved from covers to encompass a range of genres. In 2020, after a hiatus, they reemerged with a focus on cinematic, ambient, and video-game music, drawing from their global experiences living in the Netherlands, United Kingdom, and Singapore before returning to Bangkok, Thailand.
